Innovation – 25kV high output renewal train, a world first

Working in partnership with their customer SNCF Réseau and two manufacturers, TSO CATENAIRES and COLAS RAIL have succeeded in scaling up the catenary regeneration process with the development of a major new innovation: high-speed operational sequencing.

To succeed in this technical and human challenge, the two companies have devised a unique solution. Breaking with the traditional methods of working with rail/road machines, they piloted the creation of two high-speed operational sequencing trains: one for 25,000V lines, and the other for 1,500V lines.

This innovation uses two special factory trains designed and developed specifically for this project in conjunction with two rail equipment manufacturers. Each train is a sequence of mobile workshops dedicated to specific tasks that are carried out simultaneously and in sequence for each catenary support to complete every stage of the regeneration process.
